Welcome to Math Intervention with Mrs. Lauriello!
About Me:
I have been teaching in Old Tappan since 2006. When I first began teaching, I taught both Language Arts and Math. I spent most of my years teaching Fifth Grade Math before starting the Math Intervention program here at CDW. I have three kids- two boys and a girl. I love to be active outside as often as possible, especially at the beach in the summer. My favorite seasons are fall and summer and I LOVE chocolate!
About the Program:
The Charles DeWolf Math and Reading Intervention programs have been established to support students who have gaps in their math and/or reading foundations based on the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS). As part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) model, students will receive individual or small group specialized supplemental instruction. The goal of the program is to remediate deficiencies by identifying and targeting student’s specific needs. The frequency and duration of support will vary based on student need. These sessions will take place outside of their regularly scheduled math and language arts classes.
Multiple assessments will be utilized to determine eligibility for the program including standardized testing, formal and informal classroom assessments, Teachers College Reading Assessments, and classroom performance. Student progress will be monitored throughout the program to determine if continuation is necessary, or if a child has achieved their individual goals to exit the program.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of a child in the program will receive notification of entry and exit of the program, as well as progress performance and goals met as a result of the program.
I look forward to working with your child this year!
