Interscholastic Sports 

2025-2026 

INTRAMURAL SPORTS 

CDW Intramural Sports offers students (Grades 5-8) an opportunity to participate in multiple sporting activities throughout the year. The program is designed to be inclusive of all students' abilities, is built on skill development, and is rooted in sportsmanship. Intramurals will run from October through June. A schedule will be shared when school starts.

FALL SPORTS
 

*Students are only allowed to play on one team per season.

CDW Co-Ed Soccer

Open to 7th and 8th-graders (6th if needed). The team usually plays a 12-game fall schedule, competing twice against each of the other middle schools in the Northern Valley. Tryouts for the team are announced in the fall. The team generally practices Monday-Thursday and plays two-three games each week, once games begin. Games are played under N.F.H.S. rules, with the exception that teams play two 30-minute periods instead of 40 minutes. Home games are played on the CDW field. *Updated medical information is due before September 5, 2025. 

CDW Boys’ Volleyball

Open to 7th and 8th-graders (6th if needed). The team usually plays a 12-game fall schedule, competing twice against each of the other middle schools in the Northern Valley. Tryouts for the team are announced in the fall. The team generally practices Monday-Thursday and plays two-three games each week, once games begin. Home games are played in the CDW Rossi Gym.

CDW Girls’ Volleyball 

Open to 7th and 8th-graders (6th if needed). The team usually plays a 12-game fall schedule, competing twice against the other middle schools in the Northern Valley. Open to 7th and 8th-graders (6th if needed). Tryouts are announced in November, and approximately 15 boys are selected for the team. The team generally practices Monday-Thursday and plays two-three games each week, once games begin. League games are played against the Northern Valley middle schools. *Updated medical information is due before October 30, 2025. 

CDW Girls’ Basketball

The team generally practices Monday-Thursday and plays two-three games each week, once games begin. Games are played against other Valley middle schools. CDW Girls’ Softball 

Open to 7th and 8th-graders (6th if needed). Tryouts are announced in late March or early April, and approximately 15 girls are selected for the team. The team generally practices Monday-Thursday and plays two-three games each week, once games begin. Games are played against other Valley middle schools.   CDW Co-Ed Track Team

The CDW track team is the largest of the school’s teams, with a no-cut policy allowing all 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students the opportunity to participate. Student sign-ups occur in late March or early April. The team generally practices Monday-Thursday, and there are 2-3 meets per season. Meet events include 60, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 meter races, relays, shot put discus, and long jump. Events are held at NVOT or NV Demarest with students from other Northern Valley middle schools. *Updated medical information is due before March 27, 2026.
